MSS- Change Location

To change the location of an employee in Oracle HCM Cloud, you can follow these steps if you have the necessary role (HR Specialist, Manager, etc.):

Steps to Change Employee Location:

  1. Log in to Oracle HCM Cloud: Make sure you have the required permissions to edit employee records.

  2. Navigate to My Workforce:

    • From the homepage, click on the My Workforce or Person Management tab.
  3. Search for the Employee:

    • Use the Search function to locate the employee whose location you want to change.
    • You can search by name, employee number, or other identifiers.
  4. Access the Employee’s Profile:

    • Click on the employee’s name to open their profile.
  5. Edit Employment Information:

    • In the employee profile, go to the Employment section or a similarly labeled section that contains details about the employee’s job and organization.
    • Look for a section labeled Location, which might be under Assignment or Job Details depending on the system setup.
  6. Change the Location:

    • Click the Edit button to change the location.
    • Select a new location from the available options (your organization’s pre-defined locations should be listed in a dropdown or search box).
  7. Update Effective Date:

    • Choose the Effective Date for when the location change should take place.
    • Ensure the date aligns with organizational policies (for instance, future-dated changes might need approval).
  8. Submit the Change:

    • After selecting the new location and confirming the effective date, click Submit or Save to finalize the change.
    • The change may need to go through an approval workflow, depending on your organization’s settings.
  9. Confirm the Update:

    • Once submitted, the system may notify you of the status, whether it’s successful or requires further approval.
    • You can monitor the process by checking the Transaction Console or Worklist (if applicable) to see if any approvals are pending.

Notes:

  • If you are a manager, you may only be able to initiate this process for your direct reports. HR specialists typically have broader access.
  • The location change could trigger other system updates, such as tax jurisdiction changes, workflow updates, or reporting structure changes.
