Goal Management- Edit A Goal In The Goal Library

To edit a goal in the Goal Library in Oracle Cloud Goal Management, follow these steps. The Goal Library contains predefined goals that can be assigned to employees or groups. Administrators can edit these goals to ensure they align with the organization’s current objectives or specific performance criteria.

Steps to Edit a Goal in the Goal Library:

1. Log in to Oracle Cloud

  • Use your administrator credentials to access Oracle Cloud.

2. Navigate to Goal Management

  • From the Navigator menu, under My Client Groups, select “Goal Management” or “Goals”.
  • You can also search for “Manage Goal Library” using the search bar at the top of the page.

3. Access the Goal Library

  • In the Goal Management section, locate the Goal Library.
  • This is where all predefined or saved goals are stored.

4. Search for the Goal to Edit

  • Use the search or filter options to locate the goal you want to edit. You can search by the goal name, category, or keywords.

5. Select and Edit the Goal

  • Once you find the goal you wish to edit, click on the goal name to open its details.
  • In the goal details page, you will be able to see fields such as:
    • Goal Name: The title or name of the goal.
    • Description: A detailed description of the goal.
    • Category: The category under which the goal falls (e.g., performance, development).
    • Weight: The weight assigned to the goal, indicating its importance.
    • Target Completion Date: The deadline for the goal’s completion.

6. Modify the Goal Fields

  • Update any fields as needed:
    • Change the Goal Name if necessary.
    • Edit the Goal Description to reflect new objectives or metrics.
    • Adjust the Target Completion Date or any milestones.
    • Modify the Weight of the goal to indicate its relative importance compared to other goals.
    • Add or remove specific metrics or milestones to track progress.

7. Save Changes

  • Once you’ve made the necessary edits, click Save or Submit to apply the changes.
  • The goal will now be updated in the Goal Library, and any new assignments of this goal will reflect the changes.

8. Review the Edited Goal

  • After saving the changes, you can review the goal by searching for it again in the Goal Library to ensure that the updates have been applied correctly.

9. Impact on Assigned Goals

  • It’s important to note that editing a goal in the Goal Library will not automatically update goals that have already been assigned to employees. If you need to update assigned goals, you will need to manually edit those or assign the updated goal to the employees again.

Summary:

  • Access the Goal Library via the Goal Management module and search for the goal you wish to edit.
  • Modify fields like the goal name, description, category, weight, and target completion date as needed.
  • Save your changes to update the goal in the library, ensuring future assignments reflect the updated version.

Editing goals in the Goal Library ensures that your organization’s objectives remain aligned with current priorities and performance targets.
