Updating the Headcount and Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) for a position in Oracle Fusion is typically done through the Workforce Structures module. This allows organizations to adjust the number of employees allowed for a specific position and the full-time equivalent value, which indicates the workload associated with that position. Follow the steps below to update both headcount and FTE:
1. Navigate to Manage Positions
- Login to Oracle Fusion.
- Go to the My Client Groups section.
- Select Workforce Structures → Manage Positions.
2. Search for the Position
- In the Manage Positions page, use the search filters (Position Name, Code, or other criteria) to find the specific position you want to update.
- Click on the position name in the search results to open the details for that position.
3. Update the Headcount and FTE
Once inside the position details:
a) Headcount Update
- Scroll to the Position Details section.
- Locate the field labeled “Headcount”.
- Update the Headcount to the new value. The headcount represents the total number of employees that can be hired or assigned to this position.
b) FTE Update
- In the same Position Details section, locate the field labeled “Full-Time Equivalent (FTE)”.
- Update the FTE value.
- FTE is a decimal value where:
- 1.0 represents a full-time position (e.g., 100% workload).
- 0.5 represents a half-time position (e.g., 50% workload).
- FTE is a decimal value where:
4. Set Effective Dates for Changes
Oracle Fusion allows you to set the effective date for any changes made to positions. This is particularly useful for future-dated changes or backdated adjustments.
- In the Effective Date section (often near the top of the page), select the date from which the updated headcount and FTE should take effect.
- If the position is already active, this ensures that your changes reflect correctly based on the effective date.
5. Review and Save Changes
- Review the changes you have made to the headcount and FTE.
- Click Save and Close to finalize the updates.
- The position will now reflect the updated headcount and FTE values in the system.
6. Verify the Updates
- After saving, it’s good practice to verify that the changes have been applied correctly.
- Go back to Manage Positions, search for the updated position, and check the headcount and FTE fields to ensure they reflect the new values.
This process ensures that the headcount and FTE values are accurately updated, enabling Oracle Fusion to properly manage recruitment, staffing, and workforce planning based on the allowed capacity for each position.
Through Workforce Structures, we can increase the headcount for a position occupied by multiple employees
