Update SUI Rates

To update State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) rates in Oracle HCM, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to Setup and Maintenance:

  • Go to the Home page.
  • Select Setup and Maintenance under Tools.

2. Search for Payroll Definitions:

  • In the search bar, type “Manage Legal Entity HCM Information” or “Payroll Definitions”.
  • Select the relevant task from the results.

3. Access Legal Entity HCM Information:

  • Choose the legal entity for which you want to update the SUI rates.
  • Click Edit to access the configuration.

4. Select the State:

  • Under the Tax Information tab, find the State for which you need to update the SUI rates.

5. Update SUI Rate:

  • Within the state’s tax setup, locate the Unemployment Insurance section.
  • Enter the updated SUI rate for the state. This could be a fixed rate or vary depending on specific rules in the state.
  • If there are additional components, such as employer contribution rates or taxable wage limits, update those fields as needed.

6. Effective Dates:

  • Ensure you set the effective date for the new rate accurately, so it applies to payroll calculations from the correct date onward.

7. Save and Close:

  • After entering the updated rates and reviewing the changes, click Save and Close.

8. Validate:

  • After saving the changes, validate the new SUI rate by running a sample payroll process to confirm that the rate is being applied correctly.
