Enable Help Icons

To enable Help Icons in Oracle Cloud (which provide contextual help and guide users within the system), you can follow these steps. Help icons usually appear as small question marks or icons next to fields or sections, offering information, tips, and instructions.

Steps to Enable Help Icons in Oracle Cloud:

1. Log in to Oracle Cloud

  • Access Oracle Cloud using your credentials with the necessary administrative privileges to configure user settings.

2. Navigate to the Setup and Maintenance Work Area

  • From the Navigator menu, choose “Setup and Maintenance” under Tools or My Client Groups (depending on the module you are working in).

3. Search for User Interface Setup

  • In the Setup and Maintenance work area, use the search bar to look for the task called “Manage Help” or “Configure User Interface Settings” (the exact name might vary depending on the version of Oracle Cloud you’re using).
  • If this task isn’t visible, search for the “User Interface” setup within the relevant module (e.g., HCM, ERP, etc.).

4. Configure Help Settings

  • Once you locate the Manage Help or User Interface Settings task, click on it to open the configuration options.
  • In this section, you should see a setting related to enabling Help Icons or Help Features for your users.
  • Check the box or toggle the option to Enable Help Icons.
  • You might also see options to customize the type of help content displayed (e.g., product documentation, company-specific help, or both).

5. Save the Changes

  • After enabling the help icons, click Save or Save and Close to apply the changes.

6. Verify Help Icons

  • Log out and log back in to Oracle Cloud, or ask your users to refresh their browsers.
  • Navigate to a relevant page (e.g., a form, report, or dashboard) to confirm that the Help Icons now appear next to fields or sections, offering helpful guidance.

Optional: Customizing Help Content

  • Oracle Help allows for customization. You can configure it to show not only standard Oracle-provided help but also custom, organization-specific help if needed. This is done through Oracle Guided Learning or by uploading custom help content.

By enabling help icons, users will have easy access to contextual guidance, improving the overall user experience and minimizing errors or confusion when using Oracle Cloud Applications.
