Goal Management- Cancel A Goal

In Oracle Cloud Goal Management, canceling a goal might be necessary when goals become irrelevant, outdated, or when priorities shift. When a goal is canceled, it is no longer tracked as part of the performance evaluation.

Steps to Cancel a Goal:

1. Log in to Oracle Cloud

  • Use your employee or manager credentials to access the system.

2. Navigate to My Goals (or Employee Goals for Managers)

  • If you’re an employee:
    • From the Home page, go to the Navigator menu.
    • Under the Me section, click on My Goals.
  • If you’re a manager and need to cancel a goal for a team member:
    • Go to the My Team or My Client Groups section and select Goals to view your team’s goals.

3. Locate the Goal to Cancel

  • In the My Goals section, find the goal you want to cancel.
  • You can search for the goal or browse through the list of active goals.

4. Open the Goal Details

  • Click on the goal title to open the detailed view of the goal.

5. Cancel the Goal

  • In the goal details page, look for the Cancel option.
    • This might be a button labeled Cancel Goal or Mark as Canceled.
  • Select this option to cancel the goal.
  • You might be prompted to provide a reason for canceling the goal. Enter a brief explanation, such as “Project discontinued” or “Goal no longer relevant.”

6. Save or Confirm the Cancellation

  • After selecting Cancel, confirm the action by clicking Save or Submit (depending on the system prompts).
  • The goal will now be marked as Canceled, and its progress tracking will stop.

7. Review the Status

  • Once the goal is canceled, its status will change to Canceled in your goals list. It may no longer be editable or trackable.
  • Canceled goals will often appear in a separate section or filter for historical reference, but they will not count towards your active performance goals.

8. Notify Manager or Employee (Optional)

  • If required, notify your manager or team member about the goal cancellation. Some systems will send an automatic notification when a goal is canceled.

Summary:

  • Navigate to My Goals (or Employee Goals if you’re a manager) to find the goal you want to cancel.
  • Open the goal details, click Cancel Goal, provide a reason if needed, and confirm the cancellation.
  • Once canceled, the goal will no longer be tracked for performance evaluation.

Canceling a goal ensures that it no longer affects performance tracking, helping maintain focus on relevant and aligned objectives.
